BRUGES: The Hertog Jan restaurant group which includes L.E.S.S. Eatery and Bar Bulot has developed a new concept for the festive season. It is called the Let’s Celebrate by Hertog Jan foodbox.
Gert de Mangeleer and Joachim Boudens have been working with deliveries for both L.E.S.S. Eatery and Bar Bulot delivering food not just in Bruges but elsewhere in Belgium since the restaurants were closed because of COVID-19.
They will do the same with the Let’s Celebrate Foodbox which will be available on Christmas eve and New Year’s eve. The menu can also be enjoyed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day as long as the box is kept in the fridge.
They formerly operated Hertog Jan, a three Michelin star restaurant in Belgium.
“A traditional Christmas and New Year does not seem possible this year. Still we need to stay positive and think about how to make these days special,” Gert de Mangeleer and Joachim Boudens said.
Each box is for 1 person and contains a festive four course menu consisting of two starters, a main course and dessert. Customers will get a handy step-by-step instruction sheet so that they can put the food at table in no time.
The menu includes marinated Norwegian salmon, lobster ravioli, a veal stew (blanquette de veau) and a festive chocolate dessert in collaboration with the Painture bakery.
Customers can also ‘sparkle their menu’ with additional appetizers from Bar Bulot including their famous shrimp croquettes as well as caviar.
The price for the box is EUR 99 per person.
Orders will be taken up to noon on Saturday December 19 and for New Year until Saturday December 26 on the following link.
All boxes can be collected on Thursday 24 December and 31 December between 10am and 12 noon.
The collection points including Zedelgem, Sint-Martens LAtem, Edegem, Antwerp, Kortrijk and Brussels (Zellik).
Gert de Mangeleer and Joachim Boudens are also offering the possibility to purchase end of year cocktails by Jurgen Lijcops from Bar Burbure in Antwerp as well as a selection of wines from Wine Rouseu and Burgundy Wines.
