At the repurposed PAKT site in Antwerp you will find the largest shared roof garden in Belgium. Measuring over 1800 square metres, it has a 200 metres squared greenhouse, 150 metres squared of hay and straw bale gardens, six chickens, 30 fruit trees, beehives and much more.
STANDARD workshops
Standard will be opening its kitchen and wood-fired oven to host workshops on how to work with sourdough regularly.
Its interior has been designed by Petillon Ceuppens architects. Here, too, the aim was to create a quality ‘standard’ rather than a conceptual decor. The result is a simple but well-considered design that is faithful to the building’s history as an industrial warehouse. This is conveyed through the use of slightly rough materials such as concrete and factory tiles, complemented with solid oak tables and benches. Petillon Ceuppens architects went all-out to design an interior that creates an accessible, relaxed atmosphere.
The green paint used for the windows is officially called ‘Lamorinière Green’, after the Antwerp painter Frans Lamorinière.
Standard is located in the renovated warehouses at PAKT which has attracted creatives and sustainable Antwerp businesses who work hand in hand at the companies, in workshops, through experiences and co-working. It is a vibrant ecosystem which inspires creativity. Other PAKT businesses include Crossfit Antwerp sports club, technology company Bagaar, coffee roasting house and bar Caffenation, Dieter Vander Velpen Architects, Kasserole food concept, and ULLA Models modelling agency.
