All roads lead to Lyon next weekend as the city welcomes European chefs from for attable festival, a prototype edition that starts on Wednesday but culminates in a series of events and dinners on Saturday and Sunday.
The young Austrian collective for a progressive society will take over the Le Bistrot du Potager Gerland for what promises to be a unique dinner at Florian Remont’s restaurant. The Austrian chefs need no introduction, they have all featured in GELINAZ! Does Upper Austria last summer. They are Konstantin Filippou, Felix Schellehorn, Lukas Nagl, Milena Broger and Lukas Mraz. The other Austria rising star Philip Rachinger, the one who was master of operations with his father at GELINAZ will feature in a dinner at Café Sillon on Friday evening together with Nicolai Norregaard (of Kadeau fame in Copenhagen), Mathieu Rostaing-Tayard and Joanna Figuet, both of Café Sillon.
Lyon, the world’s gastronomic city par excellence is organising what is being called a ‘prototype’ festival. Caught between its past and its future, the festival aims to put what is happening in this city today in the spotloght. A La Piscine has been welcoming young international chefs over the past months for unique dinners while Café Sillon needs no introduction among food lovers.
The heritage is heavy, particularly with the passing away of food legend Paul Bocuse but the future of the city still needs to be written.
The chefs of Lyon are welcoming European chefs into their kitchen for a unique festival with some of the dinners already fully booked weeks ago. attable is working on this collaborative and radical spirit of these young chefs from Lyon. The aim of attable is that of making the festival and Lyon a playground for chefs to experiment with liberty, to experiment and play with the creativity of European cuisine.
The event GRRRLS with pigs brings together women from around the world for a dinner at Imouto on Saturday night. The chefs here will be Chloé Charles from Paris, Chiho Kanzaki from Virtus, Antonio Klugmann from L’Argine Venco, Italy, Celine Pham from Paris, Jessica Rosval from Osteria Francescana, Connie Zagora from Lyon and Gaby Didonna and Guy Kendell from Imouto, the restaurant hosting the event. The chefs, coming from all corners of the world will work with pork, one of the classics of Lyonnais cuisine for what promises to be a really special dinner.
Late on Saturday night, the focus will shift to Café Sillon for the Night Cantine which will bring some of the world’s best chefs to cook just for an hour throughout the night in a restaurant which has 50 covers.
The chefs taking part in this event are Sven Chartier (Saturne, Paris), Bertrand Grébaut (Septime, Paris), Cesar Troisgros (Troisgros, Ouches, France), Inaki Aizpitarte (Le Chateaubriand, Paris), Christophe Hardiquest (Bon Bon, Brussels), Jean-Michel Carette (Aux Terrasses, Tournus), Davide Scabin, Combal.zero, Rivoli, Italy), Simone Tondo (Racines, Paris, Italy) and Mathieu Rostaing-Tayard and Joanna Figuet of Café Sillon.
